The Newcomerstown Dance Center was established
to bring exceptional dance instruction to the greater Newcomerstown
area. The NDC is proud to offer a wide variety of classes
for students ages 2 to 18. All classes are open to both
males and females except where specified.

TINY TOT PRE-DANCE
Students must be 2 years old before the start of the
school year. Introduction to tap and ballet. We will
be working on motor skills, basic dance steps, creative
movement, & musicality as it relates to dance. 30
minute class.
Required dress:
Girls - Leotard and tights & pink ballet shoes.
Boys - T-shirt, jazz pants or sweat pants & black
ballet shoes.

PRE-DANCE
Three and four year old students will enjoy this introduction
to tap and ballet. We will be working on motor skills,
basic dance steps, creative movement, & musicality
as it relates to dance. 45 minute class.
Required dress:
Girls - Leotard and tights, pink ballet shoes, & black
tap shoes.
Boys - T-shirt, jazz pants or sweat pants, black ballet
shoes, & black tap shoes.

BALLET
Students will learn fundamentals of ballet technique
using both the Russian and Cecchetti methods. Class
will include time for warm up, barre exercise, & ballet
combinations. Length of class time varies with age
from one hour to one and a half hours.
Required dress:
Girls - Solid color leotard, tights, & pink ballet
shoes.
Boys -Solid color t-shirt, black jazz pants or tights,
& black ballet shoes.

TAP
Students will learn fundamentals of tap including
individual steps, combinations, rhythms, improvising,
shading & accenting. Each class session will include:
warm up, rudiments & combinations of steps set to
music.
Required dress:
Girls - Leotard, jazz pants, & black tap shoes. (No
high-heeled shoes please.)
Boys - T-shirt, jazz pants, & black tap shoes.

JAZZ
Using a wide variety of music and modern dance styles,
students will learn fundamentals of jazz technique.
Class warm-up will be similar to ballet but then will
proceed to jazz steps and dance combinations. Class
time one hour.
Required dress:
Girls - Leotard, jazz pants, & black jazz shoes.
Boys - T-shirt, jazz pants, & black jazz shoes.

TUMBLING
Students can learn the fundamentals of mat tumbling
including cartwheels, forward roll, back walkover,
and back handspring. This class is not geared for
competitive gymnastics and does not include balance
beam or other apparatus.
Required dress:
Girls – Leotard, shorts, & white gymnastics shoes.
(No tights please.)
Boys – T-shirt, shorts, & white gymnastics shoes.
